Lake Mulwala

Driving west towards Yarrawonga, our first sight of the lake was rather unremarkable. As we crossed the bridge into Mulwala it became apparent that the lake was indeed significant and unique. Astounded as boaters and water-skiers maneuvered their way around and/or through the trees!  We relaxed at a hospitable park, watching a variety birds, and ate the best Chinese food at the local ski club.

GUNDAGI

Signs along the highway alerted us to a popular monument so we took the bait, so to speak, and turned off to check out “The Dog on a Tucker Box”.

Also in the area of Gundagi we stopped for the night at our usual choice of a budget motel. Actually there wasn’t much to choose from for accommodation on that stretch of highway. The food choice was limited as well to either the motel’s dining room or a roadhouse with tavern style fare. Rather than get in the car again, we opted for motel dinner.
