Perhaps overdue departing Cyprus as Covid had delayed travel, we awaited neighborhood bus at night in December’s cold rain. Overloaded with baggage as this was ‘goodbye’ to almost 3 years in Larnaca, now headed ‘way down south to the island of Mauritius “Isle Maurice” (via Dubai).
Upon arrival, too tired to rent a vehicle, hired a van to pre-arranged apartment several km’s from Port Louis. An elderly snoozing man roused to lift parking entrance bar. Most of our lodgings were booked for weekly stays for time to explore each locale.
Wondered what was on top of that mountain…but let it go as one of life’s mysteries.
Incredibly beautiful scenery is an understatement! I recalled 2 Hawaiian islands I’d visited many years ago…Mauritius definitely is my visual favorite plus my preference of the warm Indian Ocean.
Favorite “Mon Choisy Beach” with increcibly warm water protected from sharks by reef.
