Arrived in Pristina by taxi from Vlore, Albania! Only 6-hours including 1/2 hour wait to get a tire fixed on the way out of Vlore, plus 1 hour waiting at a small highway coffee bar/fuel station to re-charge electric taxi. Taking a taxi from 1 country to another seemed strange but it made sense! Albania’s only international airport in Tirana is 3 hour’s drive from our lodging in Vlore and we needed a taxi to that airport anyway. It would only be another 2 hours’ drive to Kosovo’s capital (without factoring in electric re-charge time) Another point in favor of a taxi is that there is no direct flight ‘Tirana to Pristina’. The time and energy to fly kept expanding—a 3-hour taxi Vlore-Tirana + allowance of 2 hours prior to departing flight + flying time + coordinate connecting flight departure + more flying time + taxi required on arrival in Pristina to get to booked lodging! Whew! We grabbed a cab! The cost of driving versus flying was comparable but the logistics a no-brainer!
